Number Poetry: New Collection and Blog Companion!

For some time, I have wanted to write a blog companion book. Unfortunately television and Netflix have gotten in the way. Did you know they have Hercules AND Beauty and the Beast now!? It’s a golden age.

BUT I have gained a fascination with numbers and number poems. I think this has came to light in several of my poems. Coincidentally, these are the poems I discuss and share most. Thus, a short collection was born.

Anyway, you can find my new chapbook on Amazon and Createspace.

Here are a few samples that have appeared on my blog.

~

Fiendfyre

I saw the will to change

Extinguished like a 1,000

Beasts rose high, like chills

When I could see her and

Remain invisible.

~

Shadows

Shadows are the shade within

clear boundaries; deep desired

whispers we have Found

Imagine artificial light and you

will see our lust corroded

with despair,

The cotton fabric of existence

torn as waves crash down.

~

Fantasists

We became those people overnight

Fantasists who day daydream holding hands

and speak in whispers of true love.

Like nothing came before a kiss

across the console of a Chevy Cruz or

will exist without space curvature

across the low points of our spine.

I’ve fanned the flames and

Lost myself in your geometry.

#NEWRELEASE People Are Strange

I am excited to write that Book 5 in the Mind’s Eyes Series is finally published! I have several poems included in this collection and collaborate with world-class writers and photographers such as Helle Gade, Maria Savva, Darcia Helle, Kim Stapf, Martin David Porter, J. Michael Radcliffe, Julie Elizabeth Powell, Thomma Lyn Grindstaff and Maria Haskins.

The idea was to look at photographs of people and interpret them creatively. I think one of my own favorites was a picture of man walking down a road. It reminded me of a Robert Frost poem, The Road Not Taken and I wrote a kind of tribute:

Lonely Road

If I could travel down that lonely road…

I might ask about his suicide that never

was, his lover’s quarrel with the world,

two roads diverged with burning paper

and an accidental fire

long walks where green was gold

before her heart attack,

knowing way leads onto way,

has it made the difference?
