i consumed the jabs

at my demeanor, because

i knew no other way

now others risk

self-worth to wash their hands

or take a piss?

it ends, humiliation in all forms,

or hell begins.

The slow roll of TV sounds

An inner sadness.

Sky is indiscernible

But we are nothing.

Book Review: Cinderelleper: A Fairytale Satire by Ford Forkum

Cinderelleper: A Fairytale Satire

by Ford Forkum

5/5 stars

I’ve always liked fairy tales and this humorous adaptation of Cinderella is no exception. The protagonist falling apart (from leprosy) was somehow both intriguing and at times emotional. I laughed a great deal at the subtle surprises thrown into the traditional narrative; especially the fate of the wicked stepmother!

The Road Ahead

“Given the above trends, we feel that the world’s overall fertility rate will fall to replacement rate by 2025. In other words, reproductively speaking, our species will no longer be expanding”

– Sanjeev Sanyal

i laid out plans

imagined places –

the darkness of deep

space or supernovas

humans might explore

before I knew the value

of a self-indulgence –

rooted in the distance

between stars

traveling without a Fitbit

or the road ahead….

we gave up making

love, sometime ago

i don’t know why.
